At Ohana Childcare, we believe in providing a nurturing and safe environment for children to learn, grow and thrive. Our private childminding setting is based in the charming village of Burringham, just a short distance from the town of Scunthorpe. We understand that every child is unique and has their own individual needs, interests and abilities. That's why we centre all of our learning opportunities with your child in mind. Your children and you are always at the heart of Ohana Childcare, because nobody knows your child better then you. We offer all year round care and offer both funded and non-funded places, to ensure that every child has the opportunity to receive a quality early years education with qualified early years educators in a home from home setting promoting quality above quantity care with our nature nurture approach to learning. We take children from 12 weeks to 12 years of age.
Ohana is a Hawaiian word meaning family. Here at Ohana Childcare we ignite children's natural curiosity, while promoting independence, self confidence and well being in a natural cosy home from home environment promoting a combine approach to learning because every child is different and we celebrate our unique diversity.
Our mission is to help promote happy, healthy, well-rounded independent children with a strong sence of belonging and well being connecting to our roots and been proud of who we are as individuals to form our next generation, and to get children outside in nature, having fun exploring the world around them.
Every element of Ohana Childcare is based around our children and families, From decor to resources, outings to meals, animal interaction to curiosity learning and exploring. Here at Ohana Childcare we disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature but this can often get messy so we also provide a full set of logo embroidered uniform should your little ones wish to wear it. Children who attened a minimum of one full day day a week will get their first set of uniform free preventing your children's personal clothing been stained damaged or ruined through messy learning experiences such as painting, clay modelling, mud puddle jumping or mud kitchen exploring, baking or just rolling down the grass.
Our indoor provision room has a Hygge natural Scandinavian mixed cultural feel throughout with a balanced level of space and resources including a mark making station and a messy activity craft station, throughout the room Ohana Childcare has carefully selected the correct balance combination throughout using warm cosy colours to promote a calming nurturing atmosphere this is highly beneficial for all children to help them regulate emotions in a positive way promoting high aspects of the solihull approach to learning.
Our outdoor provision area promotes our wild-lings to freely explore the world around them from planting, growing, digging and foraging to running, jumping and climbing. Ohana Childcare also has designed the outdoor provision space with the children in mind including our mini nature sensory pod.
Ohana Childcare promotes Independence through daily routines and risky play monitored activities promoting a high sence of well being promoting learning and reaching developmental mile stones.
